UMFS is a nonprofit organization that provides a comprehensive array of programs to support children, teens, and parents as they work to overcome challenges. We equip families with tools for success so they can achieve their goals. As a national leader in helping young people and families, we also proactively identify unmet social services needs and develop the necessary partnerships to address those needs.
What we do:
UMFS Treatment Foster Care offers individualized treatment for children and teens who are being placed out of home and have special emotional, behavioral, or medical needs. Our youth and families are supported by a collaborative team of specially trained clinical staff and foster parents, who provide daily behavioral health interventions that align with each child’s individualized treatment plan.
What we are looking for:
An Intake Coordinator to provide intake support for Treatment Foster Care Program, Responsible for matching clients referred to the Treatment Foster Care Program with appropriate families.
Promote Community Based services both internally and externally by meeting with UMFS staff, collaborating with stakeholders, and making presentations, as needed.
Conduct home visits to assigned clients to assess client’s level of care and provide guidance toward meeting their treatment goals. Provide clinical interventions to resource parents to assist with the development of foster children placed in their home including crisis intervention strategies as needed.
Provide case management and service coordination among referring agencies such as the Department of Social Services, Community Services Boards, FAP Teams, and others.
Master’s degree in social work or related field with a minimum of one-year direct service experience or a Baccalaureate degree in social work or related field and two years direct service experience. Demonstrated ability to apply sound casework and counseling skills, understand treatment modalities and their implications for services to families and youth.
