What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instrument Technician position at Memorial Hospital?
Job Description:
- Maintains instruments for the Surgery Department
- Cleans soiled instruments after each use
- Cleans special equipment as needed during the shift and takes to proper sterilizing area
- Assists with the orderly arrangement and inspection of instruments, wrapping and preparation for sterilization
- Keeps alcohol and cleaning solution bottles filled; keeps all bottles properly labeled
- May transport patients to and from surgery suite
Job Qualifications:
- Graduate from high school or equivalent
- If not certified, obtain certification within first year of employment (required)
- Experience in sterile processing preferred
- Exerience in surgical process preferred
FTE: 1.0 (80 hrs/bi-weekly) Days/Evening 7a-3:30p M-F
