The Life Enrichment Specialist providesfulfilling activities for the residents and to assist with meal service. The LESpecialist is to ensure the recreational opportunities provided for residentsenhances their creative, intellectual, physical, spiritual, and emotionalwell-being. This position will be performed in accordance with Mennonite HomeCommunities Core Values, Mission Statement and regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ahigh school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• CertifiedTherapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) Certification preferred.

• Two(2) to four (4) years of related experience and/or training preferred in a long-termcare/retirement community.

• Basiccomputer skills needed. Proficient withMicrosoft Office, including Word and Outlook.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Plans,organizes, and implements activities for residents with various levels ofabilities and interests. Regularly elicits resident input into activityplanning.

• Regularlyelicits resident input into activity planning through Community Circles andindividual input. Seeks to be creative in choice of activities and keeps themwell organized and positive.

• Participatesand attends care conferences. Participates in completing MDS sectionspertaining to resident’s activity involvement and completes resident activityassessments with input from other household members as needed.

• Displaysknowledge of regulations regarding activities. Completes 1:1 visit withassigned residents.

• Assistswith admission, discharge, and transfer processes. Oversees admissionassessments and any other necessary activity documentation. Ensures thatactivity documentation is being completed in a timely manner and with accuracyfor assigned unit.
