The Resource Center (TRC) is a day service program that supports members in their physical and cognitive rehabilitation after surviving strokes or other life-altering events. The TRC Site Manager plays a dual role of leadership and direct participant engagement, fostering occupational rehabilitation through recreation, cognitive stimulation, and social skill development. This unique management position balances administrative oversight with hands-on interaction, ensuring services align with MHA’s Core Values of Respect, Integrity, and Compassion. Responsibilities include collaborating with team members to maintain high standards of care while adhering to organizational policies, program funding requirements, and regulatory guidelines.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Provide instruction and support to new team members and interns to ensure effective onboarding and integration.
  • Therapeutic Environment: Create and maintain a supportive and therapeutic atmosphere for center members.
  • Documentation: Ensure accurate and timely documentation to track members’ progress and outcomes.
  • Collaboration: Partner with the Program Coordinator to support Day Services Counselors in delivering high-quality services.
  • Safety and Dignity: Uphold the safety, dignity, and well-being of all members served at TRC.
  • Operational Support: Assist in overseeing daily operations of this innovative and dynamic center.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Valid driver’s license, sufficient automobile insurance, acceptable driving record, and access to a reliable vehicle during working hours.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and collaborate as part of a team.
  • Strong oral, written, computer, and organizational skills.
  • Adaptability to the changing needs of program participants.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, patience, and compassion.
  • Ability to pass and maintain certifications in Medication Administration Program (MAP), CPR, and First Aid.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Experience facilitating groups or classes and a passion for sharing hobbies or interests with others (e.g., technology, crafting, DIY, cooking, physical health).
  • Proven leadership skills to motivate and support a team to achieve their full potential.
  • Willingness to adapt activities for participants requiring accommodations through both low-tech and high-tech solutions.
  • Resilience and persistence in supporting individuals during their most vulnerable times.

Required Education and Experience

  • Demonstrated leadership experience, preferably in a professional capacity.
  • At least three years of experience working with individuals facing cognitive impairments, mental health challenges, or brain injuries (experience in these areas is strongly encouraged).
  • A personal passion or skill that can be shared to inspire and engage participants (e.g., technology, creative arts, wellness activities).
  • Experience in supporting individuals in recovery or leading clinical groups is highly desirable.
  • Physical Demands:

    Frequent speaking, smelling, and hearing; regular kneeling, sitting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and climbing. Requires the use of hands and fingers for grasping, typing, and writing. Employee must be able to utilize lifts and machinery associated with providing personal care to those we support.  Vision abilities must include color distinction, visual inspection, perception, and eye/hand coordination. The role is primarily indoors, with occasional exposure to inclement weather, vehicles, bloodborne pathogens, and computers/monitors. The noise level is generally quiet to moderate.
