Job Title Associate Art Director Job Description Job Summary | Major goals and objectives. To layout and design all assigned pages for assigned magazines. Handle and understand all job duties including visual interpretation of story assignment, art planning, and photography art direction. All work must meet internal as well as external pre-press schedules and pre-press production files and must be complete and accurate. Additional design and photo assignments will be executed for the broader Premium Publishing group as assigned by the executive creative director. Essential Job Functions | Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results 65% - Design and coordinate all visual elements, including photography, for assigned Dotdash Meredith Core Media products. Work with the editorial departments in developing visual concepts and story ideas for assigned home design publications. 15% - Monitor issue workflow procedures including tracking documents, design budgets, and freelance invoices. Assist the Senior Associate Art Director in day-to-day supervision of assigned titles. 15% - Design and produce effective newsstand covers. Follow required steps for scheduled meetings and necessary routing procedures. 5% - Participate in the development of online and social media applications such as i-Pad, Facebook, internet and mobile devices as they relate to branded Dotdash Meredith Core Media products. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered. Education: Bachelor of Arts degree in graphic design or equivalent degree from a four-year design program or equivalent training/experience., Experience: Minimum five years of professional design experience. Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Experienced in application and direction of design, photography, and production for magazines. The position requires an understanding of the editorial direction of each product and the design styles most appropriate to each.
