The Assembly Technician will be part of the Production Team and responsible for the assembly, test, and packaging of microwave components, working under the supervision of the Production Lead. This is a new position within the team, and the roles and responsibilities can be expected to evolve with time and experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Assemble microwave components according to written and verbal work instructions provided by production supervisor and engineering staff.
  • Perform assembly tasks and inspections of small parts, often while using a microscope.
  • Use a wire bonder to make electrical connections within the component being assembled.
  • Work with computer-automated test equipment to perform various tests of assembled components and record test data.
  • Provide feedback to Production and Development team members regarding assembly, test, or quality issues.
  • Perform quality inspection of finished product.
  • Complete production/tracking documentation as required.
  • Operate a small reflow soldering oven when required.
  • Perform soldering of small parts by hand when required.
  • Use various adhesives, often with a hot plate, for assembly.
  • Follow all company rules for personal safety, environmental safety, and quality control.
Skills and Experience:
  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Technical school or relevant work experience is desired.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly electronics manufacturing, is desirable but not required.
  • Experience with the assembly and test of Surface Mountable (SMT) RF/Microwave components is desirable.
  • Experience with the use of RF/Microwave test equipment for electronics is desirable.Assemble microwave components according to written and verbal work instructions provided by production supervisor and engineering staff.
  • Good communication skills
  • The ability to work in a team environment
  • The ability to adapt to changes in manufacturing process
  • The ability to perform hands-on work with small components
  • The ability to read and write in English, to perform basic math, and understand and execute work instructions
  • Basic computer skills and some experience with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
