Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented X-ray Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using X-ray equipment, ensuring patient safety, and providing high-quality images for accurate diagnosis. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and imaging techniques, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a hospital environment.
Duties
- Perform X-ray examinations on patients as per physician orders while adhering to safety protocols.
- Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.
- Operate X-ray machinery and maintain equipment in accordance with established protocols.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate interpretation of images.
- Maintain patient records and document procedures using hospital systems such as Epic.
- Assist in the training of new staff or students in imaging techniques and safety practices.
- Stay updated on advancements in medical imaging technologies, including Mammography, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, and PET scans.
Skills
- Proficient in medical terminology related to radiology and imaging procedures.
- Knowledge of human physiology and anatomy to ensure accurate imaging techniques.
- Familiarity with various imaging modalities including Mammography, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, and PET scans is preferred.
- Experience with medical imaging systems and software applications such as Epic.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
