The Opportunity:
The EDI Specialist is responsible for the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) processes, operations, and integrations. This is a hybrid business / technology role, focused on understand and translating between data formats within EDI standards like X12, EDIFACT, XML, and JSON. The EDI Specialist is responsible for developing, enhancing, and implementing EDI policies and procedures regarding data security, backup, recovery, and error handling. They will be accountable for troubleshooting and resolving EDI issues and errors with the technical counterparts, as well as communicating internally and externally to resolve any concerns.
The Work:
- Understand and continuously update existing EDI flows, identifying areas of improvement or adjustments based on HIPAA regulations, Medicare Advantage, or other state agencies
- Ensure solutions are identified with a maximum value, aligned with product strategy, roadmap, and key milestones
- Help refine, prioritize, and accept the work delivered across the agile release train to ensure the outcomes meet the defined customer and business needs
- Ensure all features are delivered whole, and released to customers as a product to be proud of
- Lead new EDI integrations, establishing setup and testing, ensuring data security standards are met
- Develop specific Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) related to the EDI process, tracking progress throughout
- Make decisions to solve product related problems, trade-off discussions, to stay on track to committed outcomes (acceptance, prioritizing, making trade-offs, etc.)
The Interactions:
- Partner with technology and operations to create viable and sustainable plans that align to business expectations
- Coordinate with regulatory and compliance partners to ensure standards are met
- Set and manage stakeholders’ expectations through regular discussions about future needs and iterative demonstrations of completed work
- Identify methods for gathering and incorporating feedback from multiple sources to better define solutions
- Active interaction with external partners on EDI needs and changes required to drive efficient processes
- Interactions with Product Management Associates and Product Owners in service of holistic customer journeys and experiences, ensuring consistency and connectivity
- Work with system architect to understand what is possible and maintain the EDI architectural runway
What You Need to Succeed (Required Qualifications):
- 5 years of business experience specifically with EDI
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration or equivalent
- Proven history of aligning to HIPAA compliance standards and state requirements
- Ability to understand organization’s competitive landscape and constantly keeps abreast of industry trends
- Exceptional strategic, analytical and critical thinking skills
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and facilitate decision-making among multiple, diverse parties, and present effectively and persuasively to diverse audiences
- Proven track record of building collaborative partnerships and alliances at all levels while holding people accountable
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Self-motivated, flexible, visionary
What Can Give You an Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
- 8-10 years of related business experience, including but not limited to EDI
- MBA or other advanced degree
- Certification from Electronic Commerce Code Management Association (ECCMA) or Association for Electronic Data Interchange Professionals (AEDIP)
- Proficiency with Agile methodologies, SAFe agile

The salary range for applicants for this position is 103,100 to 137,400.
