POSITION DESCRIPTION: Director of Business Development
· Serve as the key member of the business development and capture team; develop
strategic direction and account strategies.
· Responsible for exploring, identifying, qualifying, and capturing new and re-compete opportunities providing Professional Services within the Federal Government and Commercial Marketplace.
· Analyze customer budgets, requirements and trends from integrator and IT service
provider perspective with a focus on obtaining new business, extending and maintaining existing business.
· Identify, pursue, and close technical services business opportunities in the Federal and Commercial IT marketplace. Focus is on IT services and solutions including
application/web development and migration, information and network security,
infrastructure support, businesses intelligence, data warehousing, content management, workflow, and enterprise data management.
· Provide leadership in creating and executing proposal development strategies for current and new customers
· Identify, qualify, and build long-term profitable relationships with new and existing
accounts.
· Identify and drive opportunities through the business acquisition process from
identification to award
· Qualify and close award opportunities that meet both long and short-term goals.
· Utilizing hunter skill mentality, build and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities
within designated government agencies.
· Draft proposals for new business.
· Participate/lead client presentations.
· Build customer relationships and maintain existing client relationships to ensure
continued growth.
· Support proposal development to ensure all RFP’s and task order responses are generated in a timely manner.
· Receive information and act in a timely manner for effective follow up.
· Administer and update the marketing database with all client information.
· Represent the company at trade shows, events, and symposiums, as required.
· Perform market research and analysis.
· Provide information and communication on the latest industry trends, competition, and market changes
· Assist and update the web site, marketing metrics and other marketing materials.
Job Qualifications:
· A bachelor’s degree with preference given to candidates with Business, IT or
Communication degrees.
· 10 years’ experience in government/commercial contracting as prime contractor and procurement with 3 years of senior level experience. Knowledge of federal business operations and Gov Win.
· Knowledge of U.S. Government contracting regulations (FAR, DFAR), knowledge of
contracts/procurement processes procedures and experience contracting with
Performance Based Contracts.
· Strong IT background
· Ability to work independently to meet deadlines with tight time constraints.
· Proficiency with MS office products to include MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and
Excel.
· Capture Management experience with ability to Identify and assemble resources for customer analysis, competitive analysis, capture strategy development, solution
development, and translation of strategy and solution into winning proposals
· Strong experience in baseline pricing strategies, and the evolution of pricing strategies into business strategies that are competitive and compelling for the customer
· Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
· Diplomatic, persuasive, and articulate communication style to establish and maintain rapport with internal and external customers/partners.
· Demonstrated experience for milestone/Win Plan process to include opportunity
identification, business case development and capture management.
· Research new opportunities, customers, and competitors utilizing various open-source tools such as FedBizOpps, GovWin IQ, and others
· Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced, team environment while exhibiting
dependability, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
· Strong leadership
· Ability to travel as needed.

· Ability to maintain strict levels of confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
· Flexible, willing to take on more responsibilities as needed, and devote time necessary to complete deadlines

· Strong consideration given to prior military experience
