Job Description
MFS, an innovative, dynamic engineering and surveying firm, looking for driven, career-minded individual to fill APM I or Senior Staff Engineer position in our Site/Civil division.
Role:
The successful candidate will assist with a wide range of projects with the energy, healthcare, education and government sectors. Some duties will include preparation of AutoCAD drawings, reports and technical specifications. Site design tasks will include city zoning analysis, site layout, site grading, storm sewer design, sanitary sewer design, water main design, project phasing and other site design components. This position requires work primarily out of South Plainfield, NJ office (Headquarters).
Qualifications
- B.S. in Civil Engineering
- E.I.T. required
- Qualified to pursue Professional Engineering license (P.E.) within 2 to 3 years
- Minimum 5 years of relevant site/civil engineering design and permitting experience
- Experience with AutoCAD and intermediate knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Intermediate knowledge of HydroCAD or other hydrologic modeling software
- Some project management experience
- Experience with NJ codes, ordinances, permitting standards, planning board and zoning board processes
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
- Ability to work with other engineers on multi-discipline teams
- Ability to manage time and workload effectively which includes planning, organizing and prioritizing with attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with managers, clients, and contractors
- Excellent written and verbal communication as well as strong design skills
- Motivated and excited to grow with a small firm and the potential to advance with the company
- Driver’s license and reliable means of transportation

Preferences:
- Some NYC site/civil engineering experience
- Some experience managing entry-level staff on projects
Physical Requirements:

- Occasionally required to bend, stoop, and kneel
