Job purpose

Daily building maintenance to ensure a clean, professional work environment for both the employees and visitors.

Essential Job Functions

• Follow daily, weekly, monthly, and annual cleaning and maintenance schedules for all inside building areas.
• Sweep and mop floors daily.
• Clean and service restrooms; use disinfectants to clean mirrors, toilets, and sinks; sweep and mop floor, fill soap, paper towel and toilet paper dispensers.
• Dust and mop administrative office.
• Sweep/mop stairwell and basement daily.
• Pick up debris on floor and empty trash throughout building as needed.
• Assist with care of grounds: pick up cigarette butts, empty cigarette receptacle, maintaining parking lot as needed, keep dumpster area clean and organized.
• Move equipment and furniture, as needed for thorough cleaning of area.
• Identify and report possible repairs.
• Shovel snow from walk and doorways, sprinkle salt as needed.
• Spray insecticides and fumigants to prevent insect and rodent infestation.
• Picking up empty cardboard throughout the building and disposing, as needed.
• Pick up pallets including broken, unusable pallets as well as organizing usable pallets in the designated area.
• Maintain Smoke Room area: clean floor, walls, and ceiling.
• Ensure containers and racking in coolers are always clean.
• Complete Daily Cleaning Checklists, as required.
• Employee must be physically present at work, on time and able to perform job duties in a diligent fashion.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Ability to prioritize tasks.
• Communication and teamwork with Plant Manager and Supervisors.
• The ability to follow direction.
• The ability to work with little or no direct supervision.

Working conditions

• Employees must take certain safety measures when working throughout the plant.
• It is a USDA environment requiring all employees to abide by specific regulations.

Physical requirements

• Ability to walk on concrete floor for 8 hours or more in a workday.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to lift, twist, turn, and bend throughout workday.

Travel

• Minimal travel expected.
