Job Title: Project Superintendent

Summary
Mid America Contracting, Inc. is an industry leading commercial general contractor based out of Columbia, Illinois that provides service across the country. We are a customer driven team, working together in a fast paced and fun environment. This is a full-time, long-term position with opportunity for advancement and benefits. The Project Superintendent is solely responsible for, and will be held accountable for, the timely completion of the project and ensuring that the project is constructed in strict accordance with plans, specifications, and local codes. Project Superintendent shall schedule all subcontractors, consultants, and vendors, as well as ensure their completion of work within the time allowed. The Project Superintendent shall be responsible for the coordination of work directed in the field, provided work is performed in accordance with plans and specifications. Conflicts or revisions to the plan shall be communicated with the project team (i.e. project managers, architect, engineer, consultant, owner) for mutual resolution, prior to execution of work that deviates from the approved plans. The Project Superintendent shall establish and enforce job site quality control programs to ensure quality completion of construction.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide direction to and resolve problems among subcontractors and vendors.
- Ability to identify deficient work and provide resolution.
- Communicate using the following tools: Procore, telephone, written logs, email, computer, photos.
- Blueprint reading.
- Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Microsoft Project
- Endurance and ability to visit the entire job site, including stairs or other elevated structures.
- Monitoring jobsite general health and safety.
- Customer Service – Manages difficult or emotional customer situations; Responds promptly to customer needs; Solicits customer feedback to improve service; Responds to requests for service and assistance; Meets commitments.
- Oral & Written Communication – Speaks and Writes clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; Listens and gets clarification; Responds well to questions; Demonstrates group presentation skills; Participates in meetings.
- Planning/Organizing – Prioritizes and plans work activities; Uses time efficiently; Plans for additional resources; Organizes or schedules other people and their tasks; Develops realistic action plans.

Qualifications (Knowledge & Skills):
- Willingness to travel
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Microsoft Project experience a plus
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Strong research skills
- Attention to detail
- Highly motivated
