As an interior designer, you have a strong desire to ensure your customers love their homes and create a beautiful, flawless look that will stand the test of time. On HGTV, youve seen the designers working directly with the homeowner, traveling to the jobsites, and building relationships / friendships with the customer. Duties & Responsibilities
We are looking for lively personalities with a design background (not required, just preferred) to join Mid-City Lumber and bring a fresh perspective. Job duties include greeting all customers who visit the showroom, maintaining communication with homeowners about projects, traveling to job sites to measure for projects, and willingness to keep expanding knowledge. Good communication methods, computer skills, being able to sit at a desk, carry at least 50 lbs., understand and follow written instructions required. As a designer, youll need a great eye for color, and an understanding of current trends, styles, and aesthetics. Sales experience to promote and sell products / services is a benefit.
Desired Experience
Experience working with customers, consulting, and planning are essential to this job. Education in Interior Design is preferred however, most training can be done on job sites and in the store.

Day-to-Day Life
In your average day, you will schedule appoints to measure job sites, travel to jobsites, schedule meetings with homeowners and contractors, assist walk-in customers with questions and offer advice, receive incoming phone calls, and manage sample inventory for the showroom.
