Position Overview:
Mid Country Machinery is seeking an experienced and skilled Master Technician with 7 years of hands-on experience in heavy equipment repair and maintenance. The Master Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on a wide range of heavy machinery. This position requires advanced knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. The ideal candidate will be capable of working independently, mentoring junior technicians, and ensuring all equipment meets safety and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnosis & Repair:
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in heavy machinery, including but not limited to excavators, loaders, bulldozers, and backhoes.
- Perform repairs and troubleshooting on complex systems and components.
- Ensure that repairs are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
- Preventative Maintenance:
- Conduct routine inspections, servicing, lubrication, and maintenance of equipment to ensure maximum performance and reduce downtime.
- Identify and address potential issues before they lead to equipment failure.
- Customer Service:
- Communicate directly with customers to understand their concerns, provide updates on repair progress, and offer technical advice as needed.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism while providing exceptional customer service.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and detailed service records for each repair job, including parts used, hours worked, and any other relevant information.
- Complete work orders and maintain proper documentation in a timely manner.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
- Follow safety regulations and company policies at all times.
- Mentoring & Training:
- Provide guidance and support to junior technicians and apprentices.
- Assist in training and sharing knowledge to help others improve their skills.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience working with heavy equipment.
- Expertise in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Skills:
- Proficiency with tools, diagnostic equipment, and machinery repair techniques.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Certifications:
- Relevant certifications in heavy equipment repair are preferred (e.g., ASE, OEM-specific certifications, etc.).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate heavy machinery.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy parts and equipment.
- Comfortable working in a variety of weather conditions and environments.
