Midcoast Habitat for Humanity is looking for a highly organized, dynamic Development Associate responsible for increasing the fundraising capacity of the organization to further the mission of building affordable housing throughout Knox County. This role will be responsible for creating and executing an annual development plan that focuses on building strong relationships in the community including individuals, businesses, churches, organizations, and foundations to expand MHFH's capacity.
This highly motivated individual will be responsible for cultivating and stewarding current and prospective donors growing the donor base. Candidates should be an excellent communicator, able to represent the goals and impact of the organization through public outreach, committee involvement, face-to-face board support, and the successful execution of annual signature events. Additional duties and responsibilities include managing the grants process, direct mailings and appeals, and assisting with donor follow-up, including administrative tasks associated with fundraising, such as managing donor data and reporting.
This generalized development position would be great for a multi-skilled individual looking to build long-term community and financial support for MHFH. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in fundraising, marketing, public relations or project management required. Prior non-profit experience helpful but willing to offer mentorship opportunities for the right person willing to grow with the organization. Must have exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently, take initiative and make effective recommendations to the Development Committee, E.D. and Board. Responsibilities
· Build relationships with current donors and prospects and make personal visits, and perform follow up activities focusing on growing the donor base.
· Manage donor database, Little Green Light.
· Participate in outreach opportunities to share information about MHFH’s goals and impact in
the community.
· Serve on the Development Committee, guide and create a team approach for implementing fundraising techniques aimed at building and sustaining donors and prospects.
· Coordinate signature special events including Board Breakfast, Annual Holes for Homes Golf Tournament, donor-related activities and recognition efforts.
· Identify, write and monitor grant requests for the affiliate. Ensure compliance requirements are met.
· Provide support to the Board and engage them in the development plan and schedule face-to-face meetings.
· Assist with follow-up calling, mailings and other activities related to building strong donor relationships and enhancing donor confidence in the organization.
· Coordinate and oversee direct donor mailings, appeal letters, and other donor enhancement mailings as needed.
· Oversee all administrative tasks associated with fundraising, including acquisition, solicitation, stewardship and monitoring of all donor data and relationships.
· Prepare regular reports to evaluate fundraising efforts, develop monthly progress reports on implementation status of the Development Plan.
Qualifications
· Exceptional organization, communication and interpersonal skills
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in fundraising, marketing, public relations and project management
· Prior non-profit experience preferred.
· Ability to take initiative and make effective recommendations to Development Committee, Executive Director & Board

Salary : $55,000 - $60,000
