Description: The Construction Superintendent assumes the leadership role on each project site, overseeing the successful completion and implementation of safety, quality, schedule, and profitability.
Job Responsibilities:
- Directly supervise all construction personnel assigned to each project.
- Communicate to all personnel and other staff any specific requirements to ensure a successful, safe, timely and profitable project.
- Read and understand project plans and specifications, environmental regulations, as well as fire and building codes.
- Produce agendas and lead safety, pre-construction, progress & schedule, and on-site coordination meetings.
- Ensure accurate and timely daily records are occurring on each project, including testing records, inspections, schedule progression, material tracking, and photos.
- Direct construction administrators with accurate time coding and payroll verification.
- Manage procurement and updating project schedules.
- Direct shop managers to ensure correct parts and equipment are staged for each project.
- Perform weekly safety audits at agreed upon project sites, and documents in project folders.
- Perform weekly site visits to review safety, quality, schedule, and overall cleanliness.
- Communicate with customers or onsite representatives on each project to relay progress or convey issues that may arise that would require coordination.
- Assist with personnel recruitment and the hiring process.
Requirements:
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Have a high school diploma or GED.
- Have a minimum of 15 years of experience in the petroleum industry.
- Have a team player attitude and be coachable.
- Have high standards for appearance and professionalism.
- Be proficient in Microsoft programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook email.
- Be open to a flexible work schedule that may include after-hours and/or weekend work.
- Be willing to travel to projects as needed.
- Be able to work in all weather conditions.
- Be able to safely operate industry specific tools and equipment.
- Be willing to obtain/maintain certifications.
Physical Requirements:
- Be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50lbs.
- Be able to stand 8-10 hours per day.
Key Performance Indicators:
- 5% = Construction Job Profitability should remain 20% on an annual basis
- 5% = Billable hours should remain 90% on an annual basis
- 5% = Safety Scorecard analytics 90% on an annual basis for all construction crews
- 5% = Construction labor hours bid versus worked aligns with Construction Lead Incentive Program
