Lab Assistant I/III

Job Titles: QLA I- Environment, QLA-1 Micro and QLA III Micro

Location: Marion, NC (Onsite)

Shifts: 12 hours shifts – 3 & 4 days per week rotational, both day and nights

Start: ASAP

Duration: 6 Months

QLA I- ENVIRONMENT

Essential Duties & Responsibilities –

• Perform sampling to support the Environmental Monitoring Program.
• Use laboratory instrumentation and computer systems to collect and record data.
• Perform advanced assays requiring precise analytical skills and understanding of microbiological principles.
• Complete all testing, including special project / protocol testing in a timely following local procedures and cGMP regulations.
• Maintain data integrity and ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
• Follow Good Documentation Practices. Qualifications for this role
• Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and in a timely fashion.
• Computer literate.
• Must be detail oriented, conscientious and have high reading comprehension skills.
• Must have basic understanding of laboratory instrumentation.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisors and peers.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology or Biological Science and 0-2 years of work related experience

QLA I- MICRO

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Computer literate/knowledge of Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel)

· Familiarity with quality based computer systems such as LIMS

· Attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a timely manner

· Must have a basic understanding of laboratory instrumentation and equipment such as laminar flow hoods, autoclaves, incubators

· Good documentation skills and knowledge of GDPs (Good Documentation Practices)

· Knowledge of aseptic sampling and testing techniques and microbiological testing according to FDA, cGMP, GLPs and USP testing methodology

· Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisors and peers

· Knowledge of aseptic technique and microbiological testing according to FDA, cGMP, GLPs and USP testing methodology

· Must be experienced in executing general microbiology procedures

· Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Required Education and Experience

· B.S. degree in Microbiology, Biology, or related science

· 0-2 years of experience; minimum 1-year experience in Pharmaceutical/Medical Device Industry Preferred

QLA III – MICROBIAL INVESTIGATIONS

What you'll bring

· Bachelor or Master’s degree in science in Microbiology or related field with 2 years of experience in conducting root cause investigations in the pharmaceutical/medical products industry

· Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality Operations, Microbiology Laboratory, and/or Quality

· Strong communication and project management skills

· Must have thorough understanding of pharmaceutical/medical device manufacturing and current Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Documentation Practices

· Must have good analysis, troubleshooting, and investigation skills including knowledge and understanding of problem-solving methodologies (e.g. DMAIC)

· Must have strong technical writing skills and able to put complex thoughts and issues into writing in such a manner that can be understood by the reader

· Must be able to interact with, and influence others at various levels in multiple departments

· Must have knowledge of FDA quality systems regulations

· Must have working knowledge of TrackWise system
