Set in the San Bernardino Mountains and equidistant from LA, San Diego, and the beach if you're looking for Christian community and a job that doesn't feel like a work, we're the place for you!
As a Naturalist, you will lead 5-8th graders on hikes while instructing hands-on classes in science, wilderness survival, and leadership over the course of 3-4 days. In addition to leading meals, all-camp games, campfire nights, and challenge course activities you will develop life skills that will prepare you for future careers and stretch you spiritually as we grow through Christian community.
Qualified Naturalists have:
- A personal commitment to Jesus Christ as your Lord & Savior, and a desire to work in ministry, dedicated to strengthening one's faith & drawing others to faith in God
- A high school diploma (required)
- A BS/BA/AA or higher in life science, biological science, physical science, parks & recreation, or equivalent combination of education & experience (preferred, not required)
- Previous formal or informal teaching/coaching experience (lesson planning & public speaking are necessary for the position)
- The physical fitness and mental fortitude to trail walk 1-4 miles/day (low intensity) and work longer camp days
