PIPING DESIGNER

POSITION SUMMARY
Provide AutoCAD design support for the Mechanical/Piping Department as a contractor of Keystone Engineering embedded at a client site in the Lake Charles area on a long-term, permanent contract basis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Proficient with AutoCAD to produce mechanical/piping design deliverables.
- Proficient with P&ID and PFD standards
- Preparation of detailed design drawings, in accordance with engineering design, required as project deliverables.
- Review of drawings for completeness, overall quality, and adherence to standards.
- Ensures all drawings have been properly checked.
- Prepares and/or directs the preparation of final drawing plots and copies for transmittal relative to all project deliverables.
- Constructability, operability, and maintainability of the project design.
- Development of design configurations associated with the various systems that apply.
- Providing comprehensive, efficient, and cost-effective technical input into design.
- Maintaining a Job Data Book which contains all the pertinent information used during project design.
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3 - 10 years of working experience
- Experience with AutoCAD
- Strong Written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated, creative, organized, and solution advocate.
- Attention to detail.
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED
- Associates degree in CAD
- AutoCAD experience
- Field experience in a refinery or petrochemical setting.
