What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paraprofessional, Part-Time position at Milford School District?
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF CLASSIFICATION:
The paraprofessional assists teachers by performing a variety of tasks that promote student learning and well-being. The paraprofessional works individually and in small groups to provide instructional, behavioral, and other support to students with disabilities both in and out of the classroom.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of child development.
General knowledge of instructional strategies and practices to support students with disabilities.
Ability to use technology into the delivery of curriculum.
Ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, and school based staff, students, parents and community.
Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills.
Basic understanding of how to engage with and support students with special needs.
Ability to use and support technology, software, and devices.
Ability to assist with implementation of the instructional program and to support and monitor student behavior.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and to perform all required tasks.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or GED required.
CERTIFICATE AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:
A hourly rate increase of $0.75 will be paid for Para Educator II certification.
SCHEDULE:
Part-time, 5.5 hours per day (27.5 per week).
