JOB TITLE: Quality Analyst
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt-Fulltime
SHIFT: Rotational Shiftwork
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reviewing and updating quality reports.
- Update and coordinate aluminum re-test activities.
- Handles customer complaints. To include visiting the customer to collect specific information relating to the complaint, holding potential suspect material that hasn’t been shipped and relaying all information to the quality, operation and sales groups.
- Issues RMA’s when required.
- Leads the A3 process for both customer and internal quality complaints.
- Create and revise internal quality documents.
- Maintain the calibration system for internal gauges.
- Handle instructions for mill owned material via mill dispomatic report.
- Lead day-to-day improvement activities for the Quality department.
- Prioritize workload efficiently for quality department.
- Communicate mill quality issues with mill tech services.
- Mentor and train quality coordinator(s) to proper processes and activities.
- Discuss quality issues with quality manager.
- Conduct internal quality audits.
- Participate in quality related meetings.
Required Education and Experience:
Two-year degree from college or technical school; or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:
High school diploma with 2 years quality experience in the steel industry. Proficient in Microsoft office programs (Excel, Word and Power Point). Experience in the automotive industry is a plus. Supervisory experience is a plus.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Mentor and train quality coordinators to the proper quality processes
Travel Required: Minimal travel is required, less than 25%.
Work Schedule: Rotational (3-Shift Rotation; days and nights)
