Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) | Millington Municipal Schools
Job Summary: 10-month certified position
Collaborate with schools to support their staff in designing, implementing, and evaluating behavioral intervention plans (BIPs) for students. Provide consultation, coaching, one-to-one group presentations, and classroom support for teachers and other personnel providing behavioral services to students with disabilities or who are experiencing behavioral challenges. Develop the capacity of school teams and families to implement the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) to help support and manage challenging behaviors.
Responsibilities:
This is not an exhaustive list, and employees may be assigned additional duties by leadership as required. Regular and reliable attendance is an expectation of the job. This list is not in the order of importance or time spent.
Goal: To improve student behaviors in the school by working with students, staff, and families in order to promote student achievement.
- Provide observations of students referred to BCBA by the school team, make behavior recommendations, assist with implementation by modeling secondary interventions, provide coaching and feedback to school staff, and focus on building capacity.
- Supports teachers in classroom management through observations, individualized consultations, modeling of strategies, and providing feedback.
- Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (and analysis, if warranted) utilizing direct and indirect assessments, write Assessment Reports, develop Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and develop safety plans if warranted.
- Train classroom staff on BIP implementation and data collection and provide consultation for classroom behavior management plans.
- Develop and conduct professional development for MMSD staff on behavior analytic practices and evidence-based procedures to support all tiers within the general education setting. Professional development may also be customized to meet the needs of the individual schools.
- Provide solid communication with parents, students, teachers, administrators, etc.
- Meet with families and provide consultative services pertaining to behavior management, as needed.
- Work with Student Support Teams to develop parent education curriculum, training, and support.
- Make home visits with the School Social Worker, Principal, Consulting Teacher, etc., when necessary.
- Maintain all required signature logs, treatment records, and reports.
- Maintain confidential records.
- Consult with outside professionals and agencies as necessary.
- Report any accidents, injuries, or inappropriate behaviors to the Director of Exceptional Children.
- Perform such other duties as assigned by the Director of Exceptional Children and/or Director of Student Services.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Special Education, Counseling, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
- Licenses, Certifications or Registrations Required: Certification as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
- Experience: Three (3) years of experience working with children in a related field is preferred, but not required. Additionally, experience in collaborating with school personnel in the development of strategies and materials to support students as well as working with families to support these strategies in the home.
- Skills Required: Evidence of prior experience or related experience in the above-mentioned responsibilities. Effective communication and collaboration as a multi-disciplinary team member.

We believe in honesty and transparency throughout our hiring process, which is why our salary range for this certified position is between $72,100.00 and $83,583.67. We consider a candidate's years of experience when determining their pay.
