Summary:
This position will be responsible for assisting with daily prep and execution of meals at the Sports Science Center (SSC). The ideal candidate will work within the nutrition team to provide high quality meals, making sure all players and staff are taken care of each day.
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily set up, breakdown and clean-up of kitchen.
- Maintaining clean and organized food storage, dish washing area and prep areas.
- Completing food service for breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the direction of the Sous Chef, and Executive Chef/Dietitian.
- Following dietary guidelines set forth by Team Dietitian to enhance player care.
- Receiving and putting away of food orders.
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers, basketball operations staff and players.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1-2 years of proven cooking experience as a line cook, restaurant cook or prep cook.
- Have a clear understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Familiar with industry standard processes in safe handling of food.
- Be a great team player, adaptable, and have the willingness to learn.
- Have basic knife skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
- Ability to physically work long hours when required.
- Be flexible with schedule availability.
