Responsibilities
The Parts Manager at Milwaukee Harley-Davidson will be responsible for the efficient and profitable operations of the parts department. The experienced, and successful candidate will be a hands-on leader, with the ability to develop strong working relationships with staff, vendors, and customers.
1. Department Operations
- Oversee the intake, storage, and distribution of parts inventory.
- Maintain clean and organized parts storage areas.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, employees, vendors and suppliers.
- Supervise parts personnel, including cashiers and other clerks.
- Prepare reports regarding parts ordering, inventory, pricing, and margin objectives.
- Manage all staff training and development activities.
- Ensure compliance with all product warranty and recall policies.
- Review sales records and monitor slow-moving parts and ensure timely replenishment.
- Provide training and guidance to staff, including safety policies.
- Develop and implement strategies to maximize parts sales and meet customer expectations.
2. Customer Service
- Provide prompt, dependable, high-quality, parts sales to customers by using current proactive feature benefit sales techniques.
- Greet customers immediately, in a courteous and friendly manner.
- Ensure customers are properly qualified for needs, wants, and ability to buy.
- Ensure cross-sales of motorcycles, financing, general merchandise, warranties, HOG Dues, insurance products, and services.
- Develop and ensure the use of a common and consistent quotation methodology for parts sales, and purchases.
3. Management
- Maintain sales follow-up programs.
- Maintain budgeted revenue and expense objectives.
- Maintain efficiency reports on parts associates.
- Provide reports to GM as requested.
- Attend training sessions to keep current with parts department issues.
4. Supervisory
- Establish departmental work schedule, balancing the workload of all employees.
- Train Parts Associates to use consistent and current sales methodologies.
- Manage employee performance (evaluate and counsel) and conduct performance reviews in a timely manner.
- Assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and terminating employees according to company policy and procedure.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Business or related field (Preferred)
- 5 years’ experience in the Auto or Motor-sport industry, with at least 2 years in a parts management role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of parts operations and inventory control processes.
- Proven track record of developing and leading successful teams.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite
- Outstanding customer service and communication
- Excellent organizational, problem solving and decision making skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong problem solving and analytical ability
