As the Operations Manager, you will plan, direct and coordinate all of the production operations. You will
be responsible for improving performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability through the
implementation of effective methods and strategies
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Manage and develop a world class team of production employees, which includes: supervisors,
coordinators and hourly workforce.
● Daily time and attendance management
● Workforce planning to ensure completion of all customer orders and work assignments
● Interview, assess and train new supervisors and employees
● Coach employees and administer disciplinary action when needed.
● Manage daily production in the plant in all aspects of safety, quality, delivery, costs and
maintenance
● Build, maintain and promote positive relationships with sales and customer care organizations to
ensure product and service quality, effective product selection and customer satisfaction
● Drive continuous process improvement to eliminate waste.
● Ensure day to day shift goals and metrics of the production department are met.
● Initiate and lead projects in coordination with engineers and quality team members to eliminate
defects from the workflow.
● Be an agent of change, challenging the status quo
● Provide direction and problem solving decisions on production orders.
● Actively participates with the entire operations team to support and implement initiatives
● Collaborate with other supervisors and managers as needed to coordinate activities of
respective departments or areas
● Facilitate problem solving when issues arise on the production line.
● Daily Monitoring of efficiencies and productivity
● Bachelor’s degree in a related field required or equivalent experience
● 3-5 years of production management/supervisory experience in a printing, automotive,
pharmaceutical, medical or aeronautical or similar environment is preferred
● High technical competency using computers including proficiency with Word, Excel and
PowerPoint
● LEAN, LEAN Six Sigma, or Six Sigma experience preferred.
● Seasonal business experience is a plus.
● Ability to work flexible shifts, extended hours, evenings and weekends, with little or no advance
notice.
● Ability to sit/stand for long periods.
● Ability to lift up to 40lbs. occasionally.
● Ability to bend, stoop, reach occasionally.
