NDCPD Finance Specialist
The North Dakota Center for Persons with Disabilities (NDCPD) at MSU is seeking an individual to serve as NDCPD’s Finance Specialist. The chosen applicant will be in an NDCPD leadership role and will be responsible for coordinating financial activities at NDCPD by supporting NDCPD’s leadership and Project Directors with financial and accounting-related tasks. This includes 25-30 different grant and contract proposals encompassing all financial matters (financial forecasting, grants reporting, contracts, payroll, AP/AR, etc.). A detailed list of tasks is below:
- Provide financial expertise, research, interpretation, and monitor compliance of federal, state, and university laws, policies, and regulations to specific project needs.
- Prepare financial statements, accounting reports, and routine transactions (i.e. budget reconciliation and postings, accounts receivable, billings, payments, and deposits)
- Provide interpretation and expertise regarding transaction allowability processing expenditures and budget revisions as necessary.
- Assist with the development of pre-award grant budgets and subcontracts.
- Assist project directors on the progress of the post-award grant budget and the submission of financial reports.
- Train NDCPD faculty and staff on financial-related activities.
- Serve as the Single Point of Contact between NDCPD and the MSU Business Office.
- Process NDCPD payroll records including assignment of fund allocation and staff/faculty contract requests.
- Work with NDCPD leadership staff with ongoing updates of internal references and guidelines related to NDCPD financial processes.
- Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements
- This position requires a bachelor’s degree in finance or a related degree. The field of study should be related to accounting, business, or finance management.
- The position also requires three years of directly related work experience; preference will be given to applicants with experience in grant budgets and/or the ND University accounting system (PeopleSoft).
- Applicants must have advanced experience with Microsoft Excel, those that have experience with Power BI will be given preference.
- Applicant must have a valid driver’s license or state-approved ID and successfully satisfy a criminal history background check.
- Applicant must be self-directed, detail-oriented, and have good communication and follow-through with the ability to work in a fast-paced, changing work environment contributing to the success and reputation of NDCPD.
