Description
General Description:
Oversee, coordinate, and supervise all aspects of the operation of the camp kitchen and food service.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 20 years of age.
- Have prior successful experience in food service management and preparation for large groups.
- Have supervisory skills.
- Have ability to work independently without continual supervision.
- Have ability to obtain all certification needed to cook in a commercial kitchen.
- Be able to cook with bulk commodities.
- Demonstrate maturity and responsibility.
- Possess sound judgment and decision-making skills.
- Have the ability to work as a member of the staff team.
- Be well organized, creative, energetic, enthusiastic and have a good moral character.
- Hold current CPR & First Aid Certification.
- Have the ability to work and communicate with volunteers on an ongoing basis.
- Cooperate with the goals and objective of the camp.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Assist and participate in the pre-camp staff training, in-service training, and staff meetings.
- Create weekly menus for both camp sessions and rentals.
- Maintain inventory of the kitchen and create a weekly order.
- Maintain inventory of paper products and cleaning products to be ordered through Sysco.
- Work with Sysco Representative to submit weekly food orders.
- Help in the preparation, serving, and clean-up of each meal.
- Ensure and maintain hygienic conditions in the kitchen and food storage area.
- Assist co-cook in preparing meals and help dishwashers where necessary.
- Perform other tasks as deemed necessary by Camp Director.
