Overview We are seeking an experienced Oral Surgical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, assisting the oral surgeon with dental implants, bone grafting and IV sedation procedures. The Assistant will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes for our patients.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including taking vital signs and reviewing medical histories.
- Take intra-oral radiographs and CBCT (Carestream)scans
- Provide patient education on oral health care practices and treatment options.
- Sterilize instruments, Sterile surgical set up of surgical suite
- Familiar with Dentrix
- Chairside dental assisting and IV sedation monitoring/charting
Qualifications
- Proven knowledge of dental terminology and procedures related to oral surgery-dental implantology.
- Strong understanding of surgical dental implant systems particularly BioHorizons and Straumann
- Experience with medical records management
- Ability to take vital signs accurately and assess patient conditions effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and team members.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and patient care processes.
