Inside Sales - Building Materials

Must have building supply knowledge
Responsible for waiting on customers, answering telephone inquiries, inventory stocking and tracking, general housekeeping and maintaining displays in the store.

Responsibilities:

• Provides the highest level possible of service to all customers with the main objective of serving our retail and walk in contractor, commercial and industrial customers
• Answers telephone inquiries pleasantly and promptly
• Provides customers with information on additional items related to purchases made
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of the products sold, product usage, product prices and new products on the market
• Handle minor complaints with the objective of solving the problem
• Listens to a customers complaint to find out what it will take to satisfy the customer
• Complies with Company’s procedures on sales transactions, paperwork, refunds, credit memos, etc.
• Maintains stock, displays and housekeeping for assigned areas
• Assists supervisor, other employees as needed

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Experience

3years experience in retail or contractor building material sales preferred

Skills

• Ability to do math, read orders, follow instructions and complete forms
• Ability to communicate with customers, other employees and supervisors using verbal and written skills
• Knowledge and ability to use safe lifting techniques
• Interpersonal skills
• Good telephone etiquette

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand for up to 4hours at a time
• Ability to lift up to 90lbs
• Reach over head and grasp materials
• Bend, stoop or squat to floor level on a repetitive basis
• Manual Dexterity

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
