Job Overview:

As Director of Business Development at MOI, you’ll spearhead our efforts in the Public Sector and Federal Markets. You’ll identify and pursue new business opportunities, build strategic partnerships, and expand our client base within government and public sector organizations. This role is essential in driving revenue growth, establishing relationships with key government stakeholders, and elevating our brand in the public sector.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies aimed at federal, state, and local government clients, in addition to PM firms, GC’s, and brokers in these markets.
  • Identify, prioritize, and secure business opportunities within the public sector, attending relevant industry events and using networks to generate leads.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key government brokers, procurement managers, and project managers to identify sales opportunities.
  • Proactively source leads and develop tailored approaches to secure contracts within the federal and public sector markets.
  • Increase brand visibility by participating in public sector networking groups, events, and associations.
  • Manage and track sales activity within your region, utilizing CRM tools to monitor opportunities and progress through the sales cycle.
  • Deliver compelling presentations on our furniture solutions, tailored to the unique needs of government and public sector clients.
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to implement targeted business development initiatives for the public sector.

Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven track record in business development or sales within the public sector, particularly in federal government markets.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills suited to working with government stakeholders.
  • Ability to navigate and understand public sector procurement processes.
  • Strategic thinker with a focus on driving growth in government sectors.
  • Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office, and other relevant tools.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Strong professional integrity, sound judgment, and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Demands:

Working Conditions:

General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available
