Position Summary:
Momentous Sports Medicine is seeking a dedicated, clinically proficient Athletic Trainer to fill an immediate vacancy to work with volleyball and softball at our Norfolk State University site.Momentous Sports Medicine, a leader in innovative, client-centered sports healthcare, this position aligns with our mission to provide high-quality, integrity-driven care that enhances athlete performance and promotes long-term wellness. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Deliver daily athletic training services to volleyball (fall)and softball (spring) student-athletes, including injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation.
• Collaborate with team physicians, coaches, and healthcare professionals to
establish individualized care plans and promote athlete wellness.
• Develop and implement injury prevention strategies aligned with Momentous
Sports Medicine’s evidence-based practices.
• Educate student-athletes on health, injury prevention, and rehabilitation to
encourage long-term health and peak performance.
• Ensure complete, accurate documentation of evaluations, treatments, and
rehabilitation programs in accordance with university, Momentous Sports
Medicine, and NCAA standards.
• Serve as the primary responder to athletic-related emergencies, providing acute
care and appropriate follow-up.
• Participate in professional development activities that align with Momentous
Sports Medicine’s dedication to clinical advancement and best practices.
Qualifications:
• BOC Certified Athletic Trainer
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Virginia
• Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, Kinesiology, or related field (Master’s
degree preferred)
• While 1-2 years of experience in collegiate or professional athletic training is preferred, new graduates are encouraged to apply.
