A well funded, early stage, drug development company has an opening for an experienced Director of Cell Biology to help further a new modality towards IND filing. This role will play a vital role in leading a multi-disciplinary drug development group to develop this novel technology towards commercialization.
Overview:
This role will be responsible for heading up cell biology and assay development initiatives to evaluate pre-clinical drug candidates toward successful IND filings. We are looking for an innovative biologist possessing a robust background in target discovery and all aspects of preclinical evaluation to advance novel therapeutics strategies, optimizing efficacy and safety for transformative patient outcomes.
- Establish cell-based protein-protein interaction assays, identify pharmacodynamic (PD) markers for drug targets, develop high-throughput screening (HTS) PD assays, and implement target engagement assays while integrating new technologies for screening and mechanism of action (MOA) studies.
- Implement assay funnels for compound testing, set up workflows at various stages of drug development, prioritize and allocate resources within the biology team departments, and oversee CRO relations.
- Develop Tier 1 and Tier 2 assays for oncology targets.
- Develop pharmacodynamic (PD) marker assays, and target engagement assays for drug discovery.
- Develop protein-protein interaction assays and cell signaling assays.
- PhD with 7 years of experience leading preclinical programs to successful IND filing.
- Extensive experience developing cell-based protein-protein interaction studies.
- Extensive experience with binding and cell signaling assay development.
- Experience leading scientific teams in a multidisciplinary environment.
