PSYCHIATRIC NURSE
MENTAL HEALTH BUREAU – MONTANA STATE PRISON

The mission statement of the mental health department at Montana State Prison is to “deliver evidence-based services to meet the needs of incarcerated men who suffer from severe and persistent mental illness, acute emotional disturbances, and to prevent suicide and self-harm.” The psychiatric nurse position in the Montana State Prison mental health department will assist with the administration of psychiatric/mental health services delivered at Montana State Prison, while providing the level of service designated by the Mental Health Department.
QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor’s degree in nursing and licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Montana. With 5 years of job-related work experience. An RN may substitute education (BSN) for years of experience: 2 years of psychiatric experience for every one year of education or a RN License in the State of Montana with relevant clinical studies. Training assignments will be considered for nurses that do not have psychiatric nursing experience.
