Job Description
The Montessori School of Pensacola is looking for teachers to join our Primary (3 to 6 years old) Extended Care team, for approximately 20.5 scheduled hours per week, with the opportunity to substitute teach and work additional hours during pre and post planning weeks and conference days.
**This is a permanent School-year position (Aug - May/June), and does not extend through Summer, although there may be opportunities to substitute.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide kind, creative, and positive experiences for our students
- Observe children’s interest and work with co-workers to develop creative ideas for engaging activities
- Supervise Elementary aged children at all times, ensuring their safety and well-being in both indoor and outdoor environments
- Communicate with parents on a daily basis
- Perform daily classroom maintenance duties, such as food preparation and documentation requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must be able to pass federal and state background screens
- Must be able to pass drug screen
- Must begin the first DCF Childcare Training course within first 30 days of hire.
- Must complete the remainder of the DCF 45 Hour Childcare Training Credential within 6 months of hire
- Must be able to easily bend, squat, lift, run, climb, sit on floor for extended periods and carry up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to work from:
- Monday: 1:15 pm to 5:30 pm
- Tues/Wed/Thurs: 2:15 - 5:30 pm
- Friday: 10:30 - 5:30pm .
- Must be able to align teaching style with Montessori Principles
- Must be flexible during planning and extended break periods

- Is reliable, committed, energetic, patient, and detail-oriented
- Independent, creative, fun-loving and kind
- Montessori and/or Early Childhood training a plus
- Additional education a plus
