Position Description:
Provide nutritional meals to children in the MCH Early Head Start and Child Development Center programs, and keep appropriate records and inventory related to nutrition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning, developing, and implementing operational procedures for nutrition.
- Plan menus and make menu substitutions when needed. Maintain records of special diets and food requirements.
- Purchase food. Maintain adequate nutrition inventory. Ensure proper storage of food, and nutritional supplies and equipment. Receive and sign for all deliveries and maintain accurate records of invoices.
- Transport food to assigned centers.
- Maintain clean, safe, and sanitary conditions.
- Maintain legible and neat schedule of meal service. Maintain accurate, legible, and neat daily meal counts.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Ensure adequate supervision of staff.
- Assist in staff training and development. Assist in engaging in on-going assessment of the quality of services provided.
- Make menu substitutions when needed.
Skills and Qualifications:
· A minimum of a High School Degree or GED.
· Current Serv Safe or Tummy Safe Credentials. (Required)
· Knowledge of USDA guidelines
· Required immunizations including Hep. A and annual TB test
· Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team.
· Child Abuse Central Registry and F.B.I. background clearance
