Responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the activities of the organization. These duties and responsibilities include, in addition to those assigned by the president:
- Develops and executes long-term strategies to advance the organizations mission
- Works to address the challenges and opportunities within the agricultural industry
- Provide effective leadership to staff, fostering a collaborative and inclusive organization
- Oversee hiring, training and performance evaluations of the organization, people, and processes
- Supervises the organization division directors
- Analyzes current operating procedures to identify ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Evaluates existing and proposed programs for effectiveness and relevance
- Advises on, develops and maintains an organizational strategy as set by the president and Board
- Assists the president and treasurer in developing an annual budget
- Build and maintain trusting relationships with diverse stakeholders, including farmers, industry partners, government agencies, community organizations and sponsors
- Oversees the business development and direction of the organizational affiliates
- Assists in other duties as assigned
- 7-10 years or more of experience in executive leadership roles
- Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity
- Understanding of advanced business planning and regulatory issues
- Solid grasp of data analysis, performance metrics, and financial management
- Ability to diagnose problems quickly and foresee potential issues
- Extensive experience working with Board of Directors
- Advocacy and Outreach experience
- Extensive Strategy and Planning experience
- Crisis Management and Communication Specialty
- California Agriculture business experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Ag Business, Business Administration, or related discipline
Compensation:
This position offers a competitive salary ($225-275k) depending on experience and qualifications. In addition:
