Job Title: Assistant Softball Coach
Reports To: Head Softball Coach/Director of Athletics
Status: Part-time, Non-Exempt
Summary
Mount Saint Mary College (Newburgh) is seeking applicants for a part-time assistant softball coach. MSMC is a member of NCAA DIII and the Skyline Conference. This position will be responsible for assisting the head coach with training, conditioning and skill development, as well as practice and game preparation. Additionally, this position requires assistance with recruiting efforts and administrative organization.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- The assistant softball coach is responsible for duties pertaining to the management, training, and organization of the college’s softball program.
- Have a fundamental understanding of the college student-athlete experience.
- Assist in running and planning daily practices
- Assist in recruiting and retaining qualified student-athletes, compliance and knowledge of NCAA, Skyline Conference and the college’s rules and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned by the head softball coach and/or the director of athletics.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Competitive softball experience is required, ideally at the college level.
- He or she will have excellent communication skills, verbal and written, demonstrate flexibility and professionalism, with a high standard of personal conduct and integrity.
- Working with college students, we expect the assistant softball coach to be friendly and empathetic.
- This position requires the ability to work independently.
