Mountain Parks Electric has approximately 70 employees, 1,800 miles of line, and serves 22,000 meters. The Staking Supervisor is responsible for coordinating, overseeing, inspecting, and staking electric distribution lines in accordance with Mountain Parks Electric construction specifications, National Electrical Safety Code, National Electric Code, and Rural Utilities Service in order to obtain the most efficient and effective system design. The Staking Supervisor supervises and provides guidance, training, and daily direction for Staking Technicians. This position reviews performance of direct reports as part of MPEI's performance management process and recommends wage adjustments. The Staking Supervisor also reviews and approves staking plans submitted by individuals under direct supervision. They will inspect and perform field checks completed work orders to assure compliance with applicable specifications, accurate material charges, and quality workmanship and provides "As-Built" sheets for mapping, typically within 2 weeks of completion of construction.
Associate's degree in related field; five years related experience and/or training working for electric utilities in the area of distribution line staking and right-of-way/permit preferred; knowledge and experience within an electric cooperative a plus; three (3) years managing/supervising experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A working knowledge of distribution line design, transformer sizing, construction specifications, right-of-way easement procedures, National Electrical Safety Code, National Electric Code, Colorado Department of Transportation utilities relocation procedure, drafting, construction materials, basic surveying preferred. Must have a valid driver's license and keep current and valid throughout employment.
