Job Title: Receptionist
Department: Retail Operations
Reports To: Branch Manager
Position Overview:
The Receptionist will serve as the first point of contact for visitors and callers at Mountain Valley Bank while also assisting with occasional bank teller duties. This is a dual role, but the main focus of the responsibilities will be the receptionist responsibilities. This role requires excellent communication skills, a welcoming demeanor, and the ability to efficiently manage both administrative and teller responsibilities. When performing teller functions, the receptionist will continue to manage phone calls and other front desk duties from behind the teller line. Additionally, this role may be included in the Saturday teller rotation if needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Front Desk Operations:
  • Greet and assist visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Answer and direct phone calls to the appropriate personnel, ensuring prompt and accurate message delivery.
  • Manage the lobby area, keeping it clean and organized for a welcoming atmosphere.
Administrative Support:
  • Assist with various administrative tasks, including data entry, document preparation, and filing.
  • Support other departments with clerical tasks as needed, such as scanning, faxing, and mailing.
  • Handle short-run courier tasks, ensuring timely and secure delivery of documents or packages between the bank and local destinations.
Bank Teller Duties:
  • Assist customers with financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and check cashing, following bank policies and procedures.
  • Process teller transactions accurately and efficiently while maintaining a friendly, customer-focused approach.
  • Help manage cash drawer, ensuring it balances at the end of the day.
  • Provide teller support during peak periods or when additional assistance is required, such as on Saturdays or during special campaigns.
  • Maintain front desk duties, such as answering phones, from behind the teller line while performing teller tasks.

Customer Service:
  • Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers, addressing inquiries and directing them to the appropriate department.
  • Build positive relationships with customers, enhancing their overall experience at the bank.
Security and Confidentiality:
  • Adhere to security protocols to safeguard the bank's premises, assets, and confidential information.
  • Handle sensitive customer and bank information with the utmost discretion.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a receptionist role or a similar customer-facing position, with some cash handling or teller experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to multitask efficiently.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage both administrative and teller duties simultaneously.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for short-run courier duties.
Additional Information:
  • This position may be required to work Saturdays as part of the teller rotation.
  • Flexibility is essential, as the role will shift between reception and teller duties based on the needs of the branch.
