GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
Provides efficient and effective management and coordination of activities of assigned shift and assists in the supervision of all direct care staff to assure the safety and security of the facility is maintained at all times.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible as a member of the program team who observes and reports physical and behavioral symptoms under the direction of the Director of Residential Services or Assistant Director of Residential Services.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (include, but are not limited to, the following)
- Ensures the efficient operation of the treatment milieu during assigned shift(s) including the implementation of student activities and experiences in accordance with facility policies, procedures, and philosophy.

Assures that the milieu addresses the strengths and deficiencies of each student by modeling, monitoring, training, and implementing the defined program.
Manages the shift and coordinates activities of the units. Makes recommendations for changes or improvements where needed. - Supervises direct care staff in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Coordinates shift schedules for assigned staff/shift with the Director of Residential Services to maintain proper staffing ratios, and assigns duties to maximize workflow while maintaining the safety and security of the facility.
- Assures compliance with Company policies and procedures through diligent supervision and examination of all unit activity/workflow, including monitoring documentation for accuracy and legibility.
- Acts as liaison to ensure the rights of the students and their families are respected and protected in accordance with facility goals.
- Diligently monitors and coordinates visitation in accordance with company policy and assures proper authorization of any student contact with individuals outside the facility.
- Completes accurate and timely documentation as required for behavioral reports, activity logs, incident reports, etc.
