JOB SUMMARY :
The Superintendent is responsible for all aspects of jobsite management, including staffing, scheduling, and business partner / subcontractor relations. They will oversee the project throughout its lifecycle from award to completion and will professionally represent the company, effectively supporting strategic initiatives while fostering positive long-term relationships with all business partners—ownership, design professionals, and subcontractors.
The Superintendent is responsible for the quality and on-time delivery of the project while maintaining safety, environmental standards, and budget.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS :
Core Duties / Responsibilities :
- Provides overall supervision and support to the jobsite, subcontractors, and field staff to ensure high-quality and timely project delivery.
- Coordinates subcontractors in schedule development to facilitate accurate planning.
- Hosts and / or attends all trade pre-construction and coordination meetings.
- Coordinates and hosts all on-site subcontractor coordination meetings.
- Leads, implements, and enforces jobsite safety requirements and quality assurance programs.
- Ensures all jobsite documentation is properly prepared, distributed, and filed for record-keeping, including :
Daily Reports
Look-Ahead SchedulesQuality Control Checklists and InspectionsSafety Program Compliance and Weekly InspectionsStorm Water Compliance – Weekly and Post-Event InspectionsPhoto documentation of progressMaintains an accurate and up-to-date set of working red-lined / as-built contract documents available to all on-site personnel.Manages all on-site field staff, including supervision of hourly craft and labor.Coordinates and manages tasks with consideration for hours and budget.Conducts reviews as directed by leadership.Updates manpower needs with as much advanced notice as practical.Ensures professional setup and maintenance of the job site, including :Office trailer
Required signage and marketing opportunitiesWorks with the project management team to effectively manage procurement and delivery schedules, as well as change management.Coordinates with project managers on critical project decisions and non-contracted work.Coordinates with subcontractors on all contracted work.Performs other duties as assigned.Education / Experience :
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.15 years of experience in infrastructure construction.OSHA 30 certification (minimum) with recommended refresher training, as well as any project-specific safety training.Training in Power Project Scheduling and advanced scheduling theory.Training in operational software as needed to stay current.Knowledge / Skills / Abilities :
Strong knowledge of infrastructure construction and exceptional jobsite management skills.Ability to deliver on key projects through professional knowledge and leadership abilities.Detailed understanding of building codes, budget management, construction practices, project scheduling, and related processes.Physical Requirements : Jobsite
