Sr. Trust Officer
Location : Las Vegas, NV
Job Summary
The Sr. Trust Officer is responsible for independently serving as a fiduciary representative, acting as Trustee, Executor, or Agent under various agreements. This role involves selling trust and estate services, administering complex trust accounts, and coordinating related services such as investment management and banking. The position requires extensive expertise in trust and estate planning and may include supervisory responsibilities for one or more Trust Associates.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies governing the position.
- Originate new trust sales from prospective and existing clients while referring clients to other banking, investment, and financial planning services offered by the organization.
- Build relationships with attorneys, CPAs, and other centers of influence to generate client referrals.
- Collaborate with other disciplines (investment management, real estate, banking, financial planning, philanthropic services) to deliver holistic client solutions.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in trust and estate planning, providing guidance to clients, colleagues, and external partners.
- Clearly communicate the terms and specifications of wills, trusts, state laws, and tax laws to clients, prospects, and internal colleagues across business lines.
- Offer consultative advice on the design and administration of complex personal trusts to clients, beneficiaries, and professional advisors.
- Proactively engage clients to address issues, explain trust terms, and arrange payments in accordance with trust agreements.
- Administer assigned accounts, including but not limited to revocable and irrevocable trusts, agency accounts, IRAs, custody accounts, and escrow accounts.
- Resolve issues related to assigned accounts and assist colleagues with account administration as needed.
- Develop administrative plans with clients and beneficiaries in collaboration with Real Estate Managers and Investment Officers.
- Present recommendations to the appropriate trust committee on non-routine matters.
- Perform data entry for approved account transactions, including bill payments and discretionary distributions, ensuring dual control.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
May oversee and guide one or more employees performing similar trust administration work.
