About This Opportunity

The Technical Writer role, an exempt position, at MSI Data is the ideal opportunity for an experienced, talented, and ambitious software industry professional looking to take their next career step in a rapidly growing and dynamic market – service management software. As the Technical Writer for our flagship, cloud-based Service Pro® enterprise, scheduling, and mobile field service software application, you will help customers understand the value of the Service Pro platform to their service business.

Team Dynamic

This role reports directly to the Manager, Product Management role. The right fit will work alongside the engineering and Product Management teams.

Requirements

Position Responsibilities

• Write and deliver release notes for Service Pro that communicate the value of each release to customers
• Maintain the Service Pro customer Help site
• Create and maintain feature guides for new and existing features
• Create and maintain integration guides for new and existing integrations
• Coordinate and contribute to communication activities with the Customer Experience, Sales & Marketing, and Professional Services teams
• Develop and implement a strategy for technical communications with video

Position Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, Business or a related field
• 2-4 years’ experience developing software documentation, including help systems, user guides, and integration documents
• Solid writing and research skills
• A high technical aptitude, a positive attitude, obsessive attention to detail, and a strong desire to learn and succeed
• Experience in content management systems and/or help tools
• Experience with MadCap Flare 
• Strong time-management skills and abilities to communicate deadlines and dependencies
• Willingness to innovate and continuously improve; enjoys teaching and assisting other team members
