What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fitter, Welder Shop Manufacturing position at MSI Structural Steel LLC?
Job Description
We currently have multiple positions for welders and fitters for structural steel in our Shop in Anaheim, California. Our primary weld process is per AWS D1.1, FCAW with Gas Shielding (Dual Shield) Must work well with our small team of welders and take directions from the Shop Supervisor with minimal supervision. Always working safely and looks out for the safety of others.
Welders will do the following:
- LADBS (LA City) Welding Certification for Structural-Semi-Automatic Process helpful, but not required.
- Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required – high school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 2 - 4 years’ experience in heavy metal fabrication facilities in performing a variety of welding tasks using manual, semiautomatic, and automatic arc and gas equipment
- Must pass a 3G, Vertical Up weld test. May be asked to complete a D1.8 weld test after employment.
- Must competently and safely use equipment and/or property
- Must comply to all Safety policies, procedures, and safety rules
Layout/Fitters will do the following:
• Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required – high school diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of 2 - 4 years’ experience in metal fabrication facilities in performing a variety of layout and/or fit-up of structural steel weldments.
• Read and interpret blueprints, including dimensional elements.
• Pass a hands-on test of blueprint reading and layout techniques.
• Must competently and safely use equipment and/or property
• Must comply to all Safety policies, procedures, and safety rules.
Helpful Requirements:
- Reading and understanding welding symbols on shop drawings, and produce quality welds as per AWS Standards
- Bilingual: English/Spanish
Rate:
Hourly Wage DOE, Monday through Friday (some Saturdays if needed to meet deadlines).
$25 - $28
