Overview:
We are currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. As a Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of our facilities. This is an important role in ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for employees and visitors. APPLICANTS MUST AUTHORIZED TO WORK IN THE UNITED STATES AND BE ABLE TO PASS CALVERT COUNTY BACKGROUND CLEARANCE
Responsibilities:
- Perform custodial duties, including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and mirrors
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify supervisor when replenishment is needed
- Perform floor care tasks such as buffing, waxing, and polishing
- Follow established safety procedures and guidelines
- Report any maintenance or repair issues to the appropriate personnel
- Adhere to company policies and procedures
Skills:
- Previous experience in custodial or janitorial role preferred
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and use of cleaning equipment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Familiarity with industrial cleaning practices is a plus
- Excellent communication skills
