Job Description
MTGL has an immediate opening for a Staff Geotechnical/Materials Engineer in Anaheim or San Diego, California. The candidate will be responsible for the following duties: conducting geotechnical investigations and analysis, performing boring layout for utility clearance, supervising drill rigs, classifying soils, logging borings, test pits, and cores, performing floor level surveys, performing testing and observation services, reviewing plans and specifications, and preparing engineering reports and letters. Additionally, the Staff Engineer will be responsible for assignment and compilation of laboratory testing and engineering calculations, including calculations pertaining to slope stability analysis, liquefaction, dynamic settlement, pile design, materials testing evaluations, and special inspection reports reviews.
Education: B.S. in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering
Required Skills: The successful candidate should have 0-2 years of relevant experience. Candidate should have a thorough understanding and knowledge of soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering or engineering geology. Candidate should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, positive attitude, good organizational skills, and a strong work ethic. Must be able to work both independently and as a team member.

Travel: Up to approximately 50% travel throughout southern California should be expected.
