Responsibilities :
Testing emergency equipment
Test emergency lighting, equipment, generators, and batteries.
Observe and / or inspect installed equipment and systems to assess functional operations, to detect hazards, and need for adjustments.
Perform general inspection on plumbing, sewer, HVAC, electrical, and carpentry equipment located in facilities and grounds.
Maintain inspection logs
Maintain life safety inspection logs for fire systems, emergency eye wash stations, emergency lighting and backup lighting equipment, batteries, and generators.
Preventative maintenance and repairs
Relocate, replace, and repair faulty equipment or systems.
Perform preventative maintenance on plumbing, sewer, HVAC, electrical, and carpentry equipment in / on-campus buildings and grounds.
Perform miscellaneous duties such as testing and charging storage batteries.
Read electric meters and record meter readings.
Complete air filter maintenance.
Related duties may also include reviewing technical literature to keep abreast of developments in the field.
May perform other duties as assigned.

While no one person may possess all the qualifications listed below, the ideal candidate will have many of the following professional experiences and characteristics :
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum one year technical / vocational coursework or professional experience.
Familiarity with OSHA safety standards related to trades(i.e.) Lock Out, Tag Out, Confined space, Hazcom, etc.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging .
A valid PA Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
Successful completion of pre-employment physical and drug screening.
Satisfactory completion of standard background checks, including but not limited to education verification, driving record, national criminal background checks, and child abuse clearance required.
Physical Requirements :
Ability to perform manual, physical tasks.
Occasional lifting of items up to 70 pounds (with assistance, as needed).
Requires frequent bending, squatting, walking, kneeling, crawling, and climbing.
Must be able to use ladders.
