MUSE CONCRETE CONTRACTORS INC., a leading contractor in Northern California, is seeking a Controller.

As the Controller, you will play a key role in managing the financial operations of our company, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the overall financial health of the organization. This position will work closely with the CFO and other senior management. This is a full-time position.

Our ideal candidate is well-organized, self-motivated, dynamic, and has the ability to manage other team members.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, fixed asset accounting, and cash management.
• Prepare and present financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports that are appropriate for the users and in accordance with accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Coordinate the year-end process for reviewed financial statements; work closely with CPA and staff to ensure accurate information.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines.
• Process weekly payroll and all related reporting requirements.
• Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls and procedures.
• Provide support to project managers and the operations team on financial matters related to construction projects.
• Conduct financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
• Train, mentor, and manage office staff.
• Other duties as assigned by senior management.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Pay:   $80,000- $110,000 a year

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Must have work experience showing consistent long-term performance, preferably in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with Sage construction accounting software is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of prevailing wage projects and state/federal requirements.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
