Accountant

National Transportation Company based in Florence, KY requires an Accountant. Candidate must have at least two years' accounting experience.

• Growing national logistics company needs an experienced Accountant in the Finance/Accounting. Ideal candidate would have excellent attention to detail, ability to take direction at multi-tasking is a must. • Performs general transport related accounting and other duties in the accounting department.
• Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and segmented profit and loss statements.
• Maintains the general ledger and prepares tax reports.
• Reconciles customer accounts and participate in accounts receivable collections.
• Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
• Reconciles accounts.
• Charge customers credit cards and handles refunds and disputes.
• Performs financial analyses, projections, and recommendations to facilitate informed management decisions
• Communicates with assigned departments providing guidance on accounting inquiries regarding revenue, expenditures, budgeting, account coding, and accounting system technical functions.
• Works with management staff to analyze data departmental internal controls and arranges to correct deficiencies and/or recommends and assists in implementing new controls to comply with audit recommendations and internal control standards and policies.
• Performs other related duties as assigned. 

                  Must Have:

• Detailed knowledge of QuickBooks Accounting Software
• Experience with Excel, Microsoft Word, Office 365
• Expert usage of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and FASB standards
• Strong verbal/written communication skills, and ability to take direction
• Self-motivated, organized, and detail-driven
• College education
