Florida, NY Part Time
POSTED ON 12/30/2024
AVAILABLE BEFORE 2/24/2025

About Us:

Natoe AI is revolutionizing radiology services by leveraging advanced artificial intelligence to provide high-quality, cost-effective radiology solutions globally. Our platform connects labs and radiologists in a way similar to "Uber" for radiology, optimizing diagnostic processes to improve patient outcomes and reduce operational costs. As we expand our operations into the US, starting with Florida, we seek a knowledgeable Legal Consultant to guide us through the complexities of healthcare regulations and compliance in the US.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a Legal Consultant with expertise in US healthcare law, data privacy, AI regulations, and telemedicine. The ideal candidate will be familiar with both Federal and Florida state laws and regulations affecting AI-driven medical solutions, teleradiology, and healthcare services. This role will involve working closely with our executive team to ensure our operations, partnerships, and product offerings are compliant with all applicable legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Compliance: Provide legal advice on compliance with federal and state laws, including HIPAA, FDA regulations, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and state telemedicine and AI laws relevant to healthcare operations in Florida and other US states.
  • Contract Review and Negotiation: Review, draft, and negotiate various agreements such as service agreements, partnership agreements, NDAs, and other contracts with hospitals, labs, radiologists, and vendors.
  • AI and Data Privacy: Advise on AI-specific legal matters, including compliance with AI ethics, data protection laws (such as GDPR, HIPAA, and CCPA), data security, and patient consent in the context of medical imaging and teleradiology.
  • Licensing and Accreditation: Guide Natoe AI on obtaining necessary licenses, accreditations, and certifications to operate legally in the US and specifically in Florida.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate legal risks related to healthcare operations, data usage, AI deployment, and business activities.
  • Policy Development: Assist in developing internal policies and procedures that align with US legal standards for healthcare and AI, including data privacy, security protocols, and telemedicine practices.
  • Ongoing Legal Support: Provide ongoing legal support and guidance on new regulations, changes in healthcare laws, and their impact on Natoe AI's business strategy.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in the US, with preference for those licensed in Florida or with extensive experience working with Florida healthcare regulations.
  • 5 years of experience in healthcare law, with a focus on regulatory compliance, telemedicine, AI, and data privacy.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, HITECH, FDA, CCPA, Stark Law, and the Anti-Kickback Statute.
  • Experience in drafting and negotiating complex contracts within the healthcare sector.
  • Familiarity with AI and data privacy laws and how they intersect with healthcare operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical, business-oriented approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex legal matters to non-legal stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with healthcare startups, AI companies, or teleradiology services.
  • Knowledge of cross-border healthcare regulations and handling international data privacy issues.
  • Understanding of the medical device regulatory landscape and experience with FDA submissions or compliance strategies.
